PES University Bangalore (also known as PESU) was established in 1972 in Bangalore, India. Formerly known as PES Institute of Technology, the university focuses on five main areas of study: Engineering, Management, Law, Medicine and Life Sciences. The University comprises four campuses, namely PESU Ring Road (RR), PESU Electronic City (EC), PESU Hanumanthanagar (HN) and PESU Medical campus. It also has PES Polytechnic, PES PU College, Amaatra Academy and PES Public School. The PES Polytechnic offers a wide range of Diploma courses in Engineering.
PES University ranked 83 for Engineering by the NIRF 2021 and 5 by the Outlook-ICARE India University rankings 2020. There are a total 12 departments offering 97 courses across 11 streams. PESU also offers lateral entry admission through PESSAT and CET quota seats. The university has its discrete list of qualifying exams such as KCET, PGCET, MAT, CAT, etc. which are considered for admission to different programmes. PESU Courses and Fees 2021
PES University offers a wide range of UG, PG and doctoral degrees in the field of Engineering, Management, Medical, Science and Law. The university offers full-time four-year BTech in five specialisations. PES University Bangalore is also popular for its BDes programme which is four years of duration and students can choose from the three specialisation. At the master’s level, the university offers two-year MTech, MBA and MCA. Students seeking admission in Diploma courses can also opt for PES Polytechnic. Students interested in the Research sector can also choose any PESU course- MTech by Research or PhD. The duration of MTech by Research is minimum two years, whereas it is minimum of three years for PhD.
PES University admission to all the courses is through People’s Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT). The merit list is prepared on the basis of aggregate obtained in qualifying examination and PESSAT score. Candidates seeking admission through any other qualifying entrance test are also required to register for PESSAT. However, for such candidates taking the PESSAT examination is not compulsory and are directly called for interview or any further PESU admission process. PES University Application Process 2022
The application form for PES University can be filled in online mode only. Interested candidates need to visit the official website of PEESAT to register for various courses. The step-by-step procedure for the same is listed below:
- Visit the official website of PESAT (www.pessat.com)
- Choose the course for which you wish to seek admission
- Register yourself by addressing the details like your name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. Once done, hit the ‘Submit’ button
- Make a payment of INR 1,050 as an application fee using debit card/ credit card/ net banking. Once the fee payment is done, enter the transaction number and tap ‘Proceed to Fill Application’ link to complete the application process
- Proceed with filling the application form by addressing the details like your address of communication, guardian details, academic qualifications, etc.
PES University Placements 2021
PES University assists students in the job placements through its training activities and placement cell. As per the latest reports, a Computer Science and Engineering student received the highest package of INR 1.5 Crore per year in the PES University placements 2021. Amid pandemic situations, the university managed to conduct virtual internships. The monthly stipend offered to students ranges between INR 15,000 and INR 87,000. The highest stipend offered was approximately INR 1.3 lakh per month. PES University has not released the complete placement data.
